Today we’re announcing Agustín Tapia as our first global ambassador. The partnership brings together our non-custodial wallet and crypto card with an athlete whose entire career is built on the same idea: never give up control.

We’ve spent the last few years building Utorg around one idea: you should be able to spend your crypto without handing over control of it. Your keys stay yours, we never touch your funds, and that hasn’t changed no matter how big we’ve gotten.

As part of the partnership, Agustín is planning to:

• carry the Utorg brand name on court throughout the Premier Padel 2026 season;
• front Utorg’s global campaigns, becoming a central face across multiple markets and channels;
• appear in content and digital activations for both Utorg and Utapp, our non-custodial wallet and card, giving fans a look at him beyond tournament matches.

Naturally, when we decided to engage with Agustín Tapia’s team for him to become Utorg’s first ambassador, the fit was less “find a famous athlete” and more “work with someone whose whole career path already makes sense for us.”

Tapia has been the world’s No. 1 ranked padel player since 2023. Playing alongside Arturo Coello, he’s won more than 55 career titles, more than anyone else currently on tour. None of that happens by accident. Padel, more than most racket sports, is a game of position. You win the point by holding your ground, reading the angle before your opponent does, and not giving up space you must hold. Tapia is, by a wide margin, the best in the world at exactly that.

There’s also a simpler reason this made sense. Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the world right now, and its audience overlaps heavily with ours: Europe, Latin America, and a fast growing base in the Gulf, the same regions where Utorg’s wallet and card have been picking up quickly in the past few months. Tapia’s fans already care about performance, precision, and not wasting what they’ve earned. That’s most of our audience too, just on a different kind of court.
