A new app doesn’t always mean starting from scratch. Sometimes, it means giving an existing product a new foundation as part of our scaling strategy. And giving all our iOS users the app where they can hold, swap, and spend crypto.

That’s what we’re doing with Utapp. We’re launching a new iOS app for our non-custodial crypto wallet and crypto card, with a new name and a refreshed experience.

For new users, Utapp is a new way to access our crypto-related line-up for everyday use. For existing iOS users, it’s the new home for the wallet and cards they already use. Here’s what changed, and what it means for you.

What’s new in Utapp?

The new app comes with the core Utorg wallet and card functionality, plus a few things we’re introducing from day one.

You can now swap crypto directly in the app, without having to leave your wallet or use a separate exchange. Utapp supports both on-chain and cross-chain swaps, so you can exchange assets within the same network or move between supported networks when the pair is available.

Right now that covers Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Solana, and TRON, with a solid range of popular assets. What’s available depends on the specific network and token pair.

To make your crypto swaps even more convenient, we’ve also added gas fee coverage directly in the app (the gasless feature, as we call it). This means you don’t always need to keep a separate balance of a network’s native token to pay for swap-related gas fees. Gasless swaps are available across the supported assets, with TRON being the current exception.

Already used Utorg App on iOS? Here’s what you need to know

If you were using our previous Utorg App for iOS, you can continue accessing your existing wallet, cards, and funds through Utapp.

There is one important thing to keep in mind: before deleting the old app and transitioning to the new one, you need to back up your wallet recovery phrase.

If you did that, you’re all set. Here’s what to do:

1. Download Utapp from App Store
2. Enter your recovery phrase to restore your existing self-custodial wallet
3. Enjoy our new app

Your crypto wallet balance and crypto card funds transfer automatically. Additionally, all our existing iOS users will receive an email from us with step-by-step instructions.

Because your wallet is self-custodial, your recovery phrase is what gives you access to your assets. We don’t hold it for you, so make sure you keep it somewhere safe and never share it with anyone.

If you still have the old Utorg App installed and haven’t backed up your recovery phrase yet, don’t delete the app. Back up your keys before moving to Utapp.

What about Android users?

Nothing changes for you. The launch of Utapp only affects iOS. If you’re using Utorg on Android, you can continue using the Utorg App as usual. Your wallet and card work the same way, you have the same features as the Utapp users have, and you don’t need to do anything.

Built around self-custody

The principle has not changed: your crypto should stay under your control.

Utapp is built around a self-custodial wallet. You hold your recovery phrase, you control access to your funds, and your assets remain yours. That matters whether you are holding crypto long term, sending it to someone else or using it through your card.

We designed the app to make those everyday actions easier without asking users to give up control in the process.

What’s next?

Utapp gives us a better foundation to build on, and we’re not stopping here. We’re already working on new features, partnerships, and product improvements that we’ll roll out over the coming months.

Availability of products and features varies by jurisdiction. Crypto assets involve risk and may fluctuate in value.
